Klasse & Kitsch
Collage in 3 Akten über die (Un-)Möglichkeit einer besseren Welt. Mit Cello und Kinderchor.

In a paradise city, in the front garden of Villa Eden, Eve basks in the expanse of her garden, the Alpine panorama, the carefree life. Her garden is in balance. Another Eve praises her husband, saying he is investing in the future by building boxes for the poor. And yet another Eve does charity work or donates for her own immortality. She collects art and only knows about the world of others from the newspapers. Sometimes she thinks: Your poverty makes me sick. In the same city, in the middle of the night, many other Evas are sleepless and dream of a better life in freedom, equality and justice for all.
The play deals with wealth and poverty, enlarges the paradise of the super-rich, bites into the apple of knowledge, talks about class differences, class shame, class consciousness, class solidarity and class kitsch. While the gap between rich and poor continues to widen, various Evas in the play “Klasse & Kitsch” seek the points of connection between the heterogeneous 99%, and ask how a solidary “we” could emerge: “Rolex for All”?
“Class & Kitsch. Collage in 3 Acts” is a play by Hayat Erdoğan.
